Hi I’m Greg Dickenson,  I created The Primal Coach with one objective in mind – to support, help and guide everyday Australians on a journey towards better health. Through my own personal experience with Health, I have become acutely aware of the modern day challenges that we all face. We inherently know that we should eat better and move more, but when we try to go it alone we often lack structure,  knowledge and most importantly accountability. The Primal Coach program focuses on what I believe to be the four pillars of health – Nutrition, Movement, Mindset & Biology as these are the key areas that will bring your health and wellbeing  into alignment.

What Do I Offer For Good Health?

Nutrition

Since 2012 I have made health a priority for myself and my family, but more so than ever my passion is to inspire everyday Australians to get back in the kitchen and become the masters of their own personal health and wellbeing. Good Nutrition doesn’t have to be complicated. One slice of pizza isn’t going to make you fat just like one salad isn’t going to make you skinny! Having an understanding of the energy balance (calorific load) of food is Key. Generally speaking food doesn’t have morals,  there is no “good” and “bad” food (except seed oils, seed oils are bad) only highly nutritious food and less nutritious food. It’s the dose that makes the poison folks.  Demonising certain foods is the stuff that eating disorders are made of! That said, there are certain food combinations that promote inflammation in the body with dire consequences for your health. This can be a tricky landscape to navigate, and that’s where I come in………….

That’s not to say that fitness doesn’t play an important role of course it does!  Our Tabata style training conducted by the Beach or in the beautiful neighbouring Parks of the Sunshine Coast is designed to promote overall functional fitness an essential component of the The Primal Coach lifestyle to enhance and amplify your health.

This is problematic as the present moment is all we truely ever have!   When your Shit is going sideways each and everyday, it’s hard to be optimistic about the future – and we look unfavourably on our past, as our certainty tends to be built on our story to date. Understanding the importance of feeling that fear and doing it anyway is key!  Fear will never go away; but I can teach you the strategies to lean into your strengths and change your “Fearscape” forever!

Biology

I refer to Biology as “Whats under the hood”. Most people in the 35 – 50 bracket would like to lose a few kg’s. That said, weight loss is only moving the needle on a scale whereas changing your body’s composition is a totally different animal! Its often possible for that coveted needle to remain stationary yet – you feel amazing, your clothes fit you better, and you have the appearance of being far leaner! 

Sleep – AKA  The most important performance enhancing drug you will ever use,  it’s free and it’s legal. When we sleep we activate our rest & digest (or para-sympathetic nervous system) this is where the magic happens from cell regeneration to keeping your body in homeostasis (balance), not to mention weight loss is accelerated in this state.  Sleep deprivation is the precursor to many poor decisions. On your journey I will guide you through all the best sleep hygiene tips and tricks to ensure you sleep like a King (or Queen) every night.

Hydration – again we all “Know” we should drink more water but do we really know why? After our initial consultation, believe me – you will know everything there is to know!

Stress – The Modern plague! We used to get stressed when escaping from a raging Tiger in Palaeolithic days. Although, our genes haven’t changed,  these days we stress about very different beasts, like deadlines, emails, or what people think of us.  A plethora of research shows that stress, “a physical response to feeling challenged or threatened”, induces or worsens medical conditions, including depression, cardiovascular diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, and cancer. I actively encourage Breath work, Meditation and Daily Journaling as they all have a profoundly positive effect on your stress levels and in turn your health.
